75 Good Days

You can find the rest of the series here.

In case you missed any of the postings from 75 Good Days, once every couple of weeks I will post the previous weeks’ photos and quotes here. If you don’t want to miss the daily posts, you can find them on my fb page, Carol Vinson Upside Down Grace.

Diana Butler Bass posted the following on Twitter a couple of weeks ago,  “75 days to the election. I invite you to flood Twitter with thoughts about peace, love, and grace. #75GoodDays”

This election season, more than any other I have witnessed in my lifetime, has truly divided us as a country. In light of all the negativity surrounding the election that I have witnessed on fb, I would like to invite you all to do the same here. I’m going to start with this:

“The world is changed by your example, not your opinion.”
 Paulo Coelho

75 Good Days

“Jesus is apt to come, into the very midst of life at its most real and inescapable. Not in a blaze of unearthly light, not in the midst of a sermon, not in the throes of some kind of religious daydream, but…at supper time, or walking along a road…He never approached from on high, but always in the midst, in the midst of people, in the midst of real life and the questions that real life asks.” Frederick Buechner

Love

“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” Maya Angelou

“That which God said to the rose, and caused it to laugh in full-blown beauty, He said to my heart, and made it a hundred times more beautiful.” Rumi

Self love is an ocean and your heart is a vessel. Make it full, and any excess will spill over into the lives of the people you hold dear. Beau Taplin

75 Good Days

“Needless to say, church isn’t the only place where the holy happens. Sacramental moments can occur at any moment, at any place, and to anybody. Watching something get born. Making love. A walk on the beach. Somebody coming to see you when you’re sick. A meal with people you love. Looking into a stranger’s eyes and finding out they are not a stranger’s. If we weren’t blind as bats, we might see that life itself is sacramental.” Frederick Buechner

“No matter how far we have walked from God, He is always waiting up ahead.” John Clare – Penny Dreadful

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.” Helen Keller

“Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you.” Walt Whitman

75 Good Days

“Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery that it is. In the boredom and pain of it, no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis all moments are key moments and life itself is grace.” Frederick Buechner
