Audra Grace, the youngest of five and our only girl. Our much younger girl. I’ve been afraid for my little girl lots of times over the last 8 years . . .

Early in my pregnancy we had 3 or 4 really scary weeks when we thought we would lose her. At a year old she only weighed 14lbs. and wouldn’t gain weight. Between the ages of 12 months and 15 months her head size jumped off the charts. Then came CT scans, visits to doctors and geneticists.

When I am afraid, I will trust in you . . .

When she was 3, she fell and knocked a tooth out! When she was learning to ride her bike without the training wheels she had a nasty fall that resulted in the biggest goose egg I have ever seen and beautiful pair of black eyes.

When I am afraid, I will trust in you . . .

Just last week, while jumping on a neighbor’s trampoline, she broke both of the bones in her forearm. She had to be sedated in order to have them set.

When I am afraid, I will trust in you . . .

This week we found what we thought may be a hernia in her lower abdomen. Off to the doctor again. An ultrasound was ordered. On our way out, we heard good luck from a couple of the nurses. On the ultrasound order were the words ‘pelvic mass’.

When I am afraid, I will trust in you . . .

I’m sure there will be many more times when I will be afraid for my daughter. After all, we have the teen years coming up. But I know God holds her in His hand. He must have some pretty spectacular stuff in store for her. Watch out world!

When I am afraid, I will trust in you.

    Beautiful Carol!
Beautiful trust! God loves Audra even more than you (hard to imagine sometimes as a mom, isn't it?) and He chose to TRUST YOU with her. Such beautiful love, such beautiful grace.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us. The fear that comes with being a Mama is something they don't talk about in the birthing classes. Thank you for the reminder to take all of my fears to Jesus. Praying that the ultrasound results turn out well.

I'm sure sweet little Audra will be more than fine, and more than okay 🙂

I had some god awful things happen to me growing up as well, and I'm still here by the grace of God 🙂

God has our family in His hands, we are more than conquerors! I'm praying for Audra and you guys 🙂 Love you all!
